The Alberta Railway Museum

Due to some mechanical difficulties we are unable to operate trains for the balance of the season.  Motor car rides are still available.

 

We have opened two new displays: the NAR engineering car and the Canadian Northern Combination car. They both show aspects of railroading that we have planned for a longtime.

 

They also showcase the amount of dedication that our volunteers have shown in preserving and interpreting the railway story!

 

Be sure to see them.

The rains of the last few days made our grounds very muddy. 

Saturday was cold, windy and rainy but we had about 50 visitors. The train was running and our visitors took the handicaps in stride, including the directions for access from Manning Drive.

Thanks to the dedicated volunteers the display cars and the station interior look great, most of the new stock is on the shelves and we are under way for another season.

Sunday brought us about 60 visitors and Monday was even better with over 70 visitors.

The Thomas special event with Miss Maria was a hit.  She is planning on doing two shows next time.
